Simon has over 27 years of experience in the local Residential Sales and Lettings property market and has sold thousands of homes in Harrogate and surrounding villages. He started his career with one of the UK’s largest corporate Estate Agents and was one of the youngest branch managers in the North East at 20 years of age, before moving on to establish Harrogate-based Estate Agency, Myrings.

He is a past president of the Harrogate & District Association of Estate Agents and a proud sponsor and member of Harrogate Squash & Fitness Centre, currently playing Squash in the Yorkshire League and for Yorkshire Over 45s. In his spare time, Simon loves to play padel and travel.

Charles joined Myrings 15 years ago after retiring from a remarkable 53-year career in the textile industry. What started as a casual role to “keep morale high” quickly became an invaluable part of the business. With decades of global experience, having worked with some of the biggest names in UK retail and production, Charles now lends his sharp business acumen and steady hand to help steer the ship.

Many people assume Charles founded the company—but in fact, it was his children! That said, his presence, warmth, and wisdom have helped shape the culture and values that define Myrings today. A Chartered Colourist and lifelong Leicester City fan, Charles remains a much-loved figure in the office and a true part of the Myrings story.

Gemma is a seasoned professional with a diverse background spanning banking, finance, and the property industry. Having worked alongside Simon since their family estate agency opened in 1998, Gemma brings a wealth of experience to the business.

Her career also includes a stint at a major UK bank, a role on the trading floor of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, and a marketing position at the renowned Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate.

A dedicated community member, Gemma resides in Harrogate with her three children, Henry, Molly, and Daisy. When not immersed in her professional or family life, she enjoys running, fitness, and cooking.

Molly has grown up surrounded by the property world, following in the footsteps of her mum, Gemma, and uncle, Simon.

With a natural flair for numbers, data analysis, and statistics, Molly brings a sharp, analytical edge to the business. She’s also a creative force behind our social media property marketing, combining insight with imagination. Outside the office, Molly is a passionate netball player—her energy, drive, and team spirit shine through both on court and at work.

Colin first joined Myrings during a work experience placement from Ashville College, impressing us so much that he became a full-time member in February 2010. Colin demonstrated exceptional skills as a communicator and sales negotiator and rapidly evolved into an indispensable part of the team. By 2012, he had trained as a valuer, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of the property market. Originally from California, Colin grew up in Summerbridge, and now lives in Harrogate with his wife Hatty and little boys Orson and Frederick. Aside from spending time with his family, his principal passions are his two football teams Liverpool FC and the San Francisco 49ers.

Local recommendation; My children want me to say Greggs, but I will go for Fountains Abbey – the most beautiful place steeped in character on our doorstep!

Syd is a long standing and adopted member of the Myrings family having been a close friend since our school days. He joined the business in 2010 with a wealth of experience in the property development sector which provided a valuable foundation and understanding of what makes a house a home. More than his interest in property, Syd loves dealing with people, especially the nice ones! Building relationships with clients and helping people achieve their dream move is the most satisfying part of the job for him. He is a family man through and through and lives in Ripon with his wife Katie and three boys (yes three boys!!) George, Harry and Charlie. He loves Ripon and can’t enthuse about it enough, but also grew up in Knaresborough which is where a big part of his heart remains.

Local recommendation (pub associated of course) is The Royal Oak in Ripon! A fabulous gastropub on the cobbled Kirkgate approaching one of the most magnificent buildings in our area, Ripon Cathedral.

A proud Knaresborough local, Neil brings over 30 years of experience in the Yorkshire property market, specialising in land acquisition, development opportunities and new-build homes. Throughout his career he has held Senior Director and Managing Director positions with regional and national house builders, whilst also working closely with landowners and investors, guiding projects from initial feasibility and planning through to successful sales and marketing campaigns.

Libby has spent the last ten years in the property business, where her deep expertise and infectious enthusiasm make every client interaction a delight. With a sharp eye for detail and a knack for finding perfect solutions, she consistently goes above and beyond to exceed client expectations.

Originally from London, she’s now a proud “Yorkshire Lass,” living locally with her two boys and her lively cockapoo. While her days as a trained dancer have taken a backseat, her boys and Bounty keep her busy and fit—though she still manages to keep all of us on our toes!

Born and raised in Harrogate, Joe attended Harrogate High School whilst working part time at Bettys flagship Harrogate branch. Following 3 successful years at Bettys, Joe started his career in the property world at the age of 19. Having now worked in the property industry for over 10 years he has gained a wealth of industry experience dealing with all aspects of the property industry. Joes favourite part of the job is problem solving complex transactions and taking the stress out of moving house.

Rick is born and bread Harrogate and went to Ashville College. After school he got his first full time sales job with Paul Smith the fashion brand in their Leeds store.

Georgie joined the team in 2023 with 10 years of lettings experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge to support and drive the Lettings department. She is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and enjoys the buzz of working in a busy, thriving office. Our resident Carol Vorderman, she loves a good spreadsheet and needs at least two coffees before 10am. Having lived in York previously, Georgie relocated to Harrogate with her fiancé and is currently living through her first house renovation.

Nichola has been an integral part of Myrings for many years, during which she has cultivated strong and lasting relationships with our landlords and tenants. Her dedication and success have led to her promotion to Senior Valuer, a testament to her hard work in collaboration with the rest of our team. Our clients receive nothing less than exceptional service from Myrings, with Nichola playing a key role in ensuring this standard is consistently met.

Having lived in Harrogate since the age of six, Nichola now resides in Bilton. Although her grown-up children, Jake and Gee, no longer live with her, they remain close by. She shares her home with her partner Simon, his two daughters, and the family dog, Bremner (named after Billy Bremner). Simon recently purchased a new home, and Nichola has been dedicating her spare time to helping him with the renovation.

Born and raised in North Yorkshire, Emma brings a diverse range of experience to her role as Property Manager. While working alongside Gemma at Betty’s, she developed a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

After university in Leeds, Emma spent several years in account management with Bacardi and L’Oréal, where she built lasting customer relationships across Yorkshire.

With a passion for travel, she has lived and worked in France, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. During her seven years in New Zealand, she gained valuable insights into different cultures and lifestyles.

Now back in Yorkshire, Emma’s love for property continues to thrive as she embarks on her third renovation project with her husband, two teenagers, and their enthusiastic chief landscaper, Barney the Springer Spaniel—whose dedication to digging up the garden is truly unmatched.

Originally from Derbyshire, Amelia has relocated to Harrogate this year, after 7 years in London. Graduating with a contemporary dance degree in 2021, Amelia then dived into the property industry and has never looked back. With 4 years’ experience in the fast paced rental sector up her sleeve, she has become a Lettings Property specialist and has joined the Myrings team with a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and to help out with all things maintenance.

When Amelia is not arranging for someone to fix your dishwasher, you will find her with her partner Jack and their Rotweiller cross, Rocky.  Earlier this year, they took Rocky on a road trip around Europe in their car. Since being back from their travels, Amelia has recently started enjoying trialling out new recipes but she is often found to be designated to salad duty or the dog’s dinner.

Amelia’s local recommendation would have to be Cold bath Brewery. They are dog friendly and brew their beer right on site. If you’d also like Asian Street food to accompany your beer, then Cold Bath is certainly a place you must go!
